On May 12, 2018, we'll be planting phase 2 of Sudbury's first community food forest at Delki Dozzi park. In conjunction with planting activities, we'll be offering two workshops. The presentations will be approximately one hour followed by two hours of hands-on planting. For those willing to contribute time to help with maintenance tasks through the growing season, the workshops are free (we're asking for 3 hours commitment per workshop). Or you can donate $25 (per workshop) to Sudbury Shared Harvest. Times and topics are as follows (all take place at Delki Dozzi and you must register using the link below):
Introductory presentation: "Permaculture Ideas" Instructor: Fionna Tough. Sat. May 12th, 10am - 1pm
Come and learn the basics of edible forest gardening! After learning basic terminology and being introduced to entry-level concepts of permaculture, you will be invited to participate in a hands-on planting session of the Food Forest being established at Delki Dozzi Park. Let’s get growing!
Advanced presentation: (details TBA) Instructor: Fionna Tough. Sat. May 12th, 2pm - 5pm
This advanced session will not cover basic concepts. This is meant for those who have attended the morning workshop or one of the introductory workshops we offered in 2016 and 2017 or for those with some knowledge of edible forest gardening.
After the presentation, help us plant phase 2 of the food forest!
